The Georgetown Keg Kings entered the league in 2003-04 as the Reptech Red Wings, the team is run by Commisioner Trevor Filion, co-founder of the RHL. Filion's franchise is the most winning-est team of all time in the RHL leading the points race with 1018 points and only second in winning percentage all time among active teams to the Milton Mustache with a .534 - This season, playing as the Keg Kings, will be the teams 4th name change in seven seasons. In their inaugural season, the Red Wings would battle hard to claim the final playoff berth, edging out the Cooper Woodsticks by just 2 points, only to be disappointed in the first round by the Rossland Park Racers as they beat them soundly 5-1. Filion was quoted as saying "They won and their wounded, we lost and were fine ..... " It was a message the young GM would not forget.  Fresh off the lockout, 2005-06 saw the Red Wings finish in first place of the regular season with an astounding 202 points, this would be the first and only time an RHL team has ever broken the 200 point mark. The Wings had a tough go with the China Town Jets and edged them  out 4-3 in the semi finals and would move on to face his co-founding partner Sean Atkinson and his Nordiques in the Cup finals. Unfortunately the Wings were easily upset by this Cinderella team 6-1. The Red Wings moved to Oakville and their regular season success continued, as they were very active with trades, and in the free agent market, completing a mind boggling 68 transactions (21 more than the second most) on their way to tie for second place with the Georgetown Gophers. Seeded third in the playoffs, they stormed their way to the finals, the wings seemed unstoppable as the eliminated both of the Georgetown teams. First the Blues 5-1 and then the Gophers 5-2, They drew the Gougers in the RHL Cup final and were leading right up to the very end when the Gougers would rally back and win the Cup 4-3. The Wings were now battling depression and struggling with their third playoff elimination in as many years, and their second consecutive loss in the Cup finals. This was evident for the 2007-09 campaign as the Wings finished in a dismal 8th place, it would be the first time GM Filion's team would miss the playoffs and the last time the team would play as the Red Wings. 2008-09 was a fresh start in a new city and a new team, Filion had his Georgetown Raiders back to form and were winning again, they finished the regular season in 2nd place, just 2 points behind the Lindsay Wazooz, and 4 points ahead of the Moonstone Nordiques. The Raiders matched up against the Nordiques in the semi finals and were able to exact revenge for the 2005-06 thumping, as they eliminated them in a tight series 4-3. It was now the finals and Filion had his third shot at the cup and would match up against the 4th seeded Alliston 93 Leafs. It would be Deja-Vu all over again as the Leafs defeated the Raiders in a close final 4-3. For the third time, one of the most successful franchises in RHL history would come so close the the coveted trophy and not be able to touch it. It must have been heartbreaking, and it wasnt difficult to forsee that again, Filion's effort the following season would have his team miss the playoffs for only the second time ever. 2009-10 would land him in 8th place and once again, hoping to put it all behind him, he changed their team name and image, looking for a fresh start in 2010-11.

The Georgetown Keg Kings are the RHL's best regular season team, there is no disputing that, however they have been unable to experience playoff success. Filion's franchise has appeared in more playoff series and played more playoff games than any other team. the Keg Kings have appeared in 8 playoff series totaling 54 games, they have won 50% of those series and have a playoff record of .482 which places them in 8th for winning percentage in the playoffs among active teams. This is a surprising stat since they have appeared in three RHL finals, more than any other team.

Filion has always been one of the most prepared GM's on draft day, reportedly spending entire summers researching and extrapolating data on complex spreadsheets and experimental forecasting formulas. He has always supplemented his successful drafts with key acquisitions and transactions through out the season retaining a reputation as the most active GM in the league. He is also has a unique ability to build successful teams without genuine starting goaltenders utilizing a rotation of a plethora of back-ups and rookies. We should expect nothing to change this season. The biggest question is what will Filion do at the trade deadline. We all know he can build a winning team, but once he gets to the playoffs, he needs to find a way to build a PLAYOFF winning team. I predict the Wings will have a strong finish in the top three again this season, but he will need to figure out a way to capture the RHL Cup. I'm not sure if he can do it......

INTERESTING FACTS:
-The biggest perceived rivalry in the RHL dates back to the leagues creation. The rivalry between Filion and the Peterborough Mullets have seen fierce match ups on the ice and harsh words exchanged. how can anyone take the "rivalry" seriously when these two teams have never met in the playoffs.
-Filion was the creator of the controversial "TF-Rank" power ranking system that would always seem to rank his team at the top despite what the standings actually proved to be correct. This ranking system was never an official tool approved by the league and never was accepted by any other league GM's a a realistic ranking system.
-Trevor Filion does not have his name on the RHL Cup.
